Standing almost 8 feet tall, this realistic looking, angry bear display will be the talk of your neighborhood!

Make this fun, eye-catching project in one piece or attach separate arms to straddle a tree as shown. Both versions can be cut from just a single sheet of plywood. Our full-size pattern includes complete instructions for this giant display plus directions for attaching it harmlessly to any size tree. (93″ tall)

Dimensions:
50″ wide x 92-3/4″ tall

Wood:
One 4′ x 8′ sheet of 3/4″ thick exterior grade plywood, good one or two sides , preferably 5-ply for better stability.
One 2X4 x 8-1/8″ long pine board (optional Wedge version)

Tools:
Hand held jigsaw (sabre saw) with a non-chipping, scrolling blade, drill and 3/16″ dia. drill bit.

Hardware: Required for displaying
Stakes – Two 3/8″ dia. x 18″ long fiberglass rods (2 – #YS18)
Clamps – Four 3/8″ dia. (1 pack #YSC2)
T-Hinges (optional) – Four 4″ long, plated (#BHNG15)
Screws (optional) – Twenty Four #8 x 1/2″ long (for Hinge attachment)
Four #10 x 2-1/2″ long (for tree attachment)
Eye screws (optional) – Two 5/16″ I.D. (1 package #EYE3)
Wire – 12 gauge (6-8 feet depending on dia. of tree)

Supplies:
Transfer paper (#CARB), pencil & clear tape
Sand paper – medium & fine grits
Wood filler – non-shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws
Paint Brushes – 3/4″, 1/4″ and 2″ wide brushes or foam tip

Paints:
White primer (#PRIMQT) for a base coat and the following suggested colors of acrylic paint or exterior semi-gloss enamel:
2506 Black

Sealer: (optional)
High-grade, non-yellowing, semi-gloss UV protected project sealer (#POLYQT) for outdoor protection.
